Obama the Messiah
Posted on July 25, 2008 - Filed Under Elections
I have grown tired of this god-worship of Obama. Ok, the guy can read a teleprompter. He is photogenic. He has been able to hire some of the best in the business of politics. He can have associations with people that would crush a lesser-persons. It is just that the worship phase of this campaign is out of control. I want a President I can respect… not one that I must worship.
If Obama continues on this arrogant path, one can only fear that his sense of entitlement will extend into how he manages our country. Early on, I was hopeful with the Obama campaign. It is just gotten out of control.
Here is an absolutely hysterical satire on the Obama Worship.
He ventured forth to bring light to the world
The anointed one’s pilgrimage to the Holy Land is a miracle in action - and a blessing to all his faithful followers
And it came to pass, in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.
The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow.
When he was twelve years old, they found him in the temple in the City of Chicago, arguing the finer points of community organisation with the Prophet Jeremiah and the Elders. And the Elders were astonished at what they heard and said among themselves: “Verily, who is this Child that he opens our hearts and minds to the audacity of hope?”
In the great Battles of Caucus and Primary he smote the conniving Hillary, wife of the deposed King Bill the Priapic and their barbarian hordes of Working Class Whites.

Media Bias Part 2
Posted on July 24, 2008 - Filed Under News, President
To think that the main stream media is fair in their reporting and viewpoints is to miss the fact that they are human and have the same bias that you and I have about everything. They too have a ‘brotherhood’ that requires gifts as well as adherence to the ‘party line’. So when I read that the anchors, reporters and producers of what is referred to as the ‘main stream media’ have donated to the Obama campaign on a ration of 100:1 basis….. it give me HUGE PAUSE in believing that they are accurately reporting what is relevant to this Presidential Campaign.
Remember this when you read your next gushing report on Obama.

Media Bias? Who knew.

I have been slowly watching all of the press coverage of the two canidates. I was SHOCKED that the vererable New York Times, which at least ‘claims’ to be unbiased showed their true colors and total bias in this campaign. This was a recent headline related to the matter:
Beyond Bias: New York Times Refuses McCain Editorial
How can any paper, that claims to be a reporter of true and fairness do this. (This is not a question for the koolaid drinking Manhattanites.) The answer to the question boys and girls is that they have a horse in this race, and it is NOT the reader.

Independents no more
Posted on July 4, 2008 - Filed Under Elections, Military, News, Third Party
I have many friends that ‘claim to be independent’. They are not and never have been.
They take no position that is neutral — most are liberal Democrats.
They take no position that could be in contradiction.
They don’t support candidates from both parties — only Democrats.
They profess independence, but are really party hacks — supporting only Democrats.
They are involved as independents, but really support only one party.
It is sad that many of these friends are not honest with themselves.
To me, a true independent is someone like me.
I support Roe v. Wade.
I support Gun control as well as gun ownership.
I gave equally to both Republican and Democratic candidates (2006: $2,500 to D and $2,000 to R)
I vote for both Republican and Democratic candidates (who is the best for the community & country)
I ran for office as an independent (lost, but my wife is running this year as an Independent)
I am fiscally conservative but socially liberal.
I am anti-war but appreciate and and love that the military is there to do the job that many would not.
I believe in America first and the rest of the world (including the French) can worry about themselves.
America is the shining example of what can be achieved. It is not perfect, but there is no other place I would trade for it.
Understanding the Press

Here’s how to keep all that political ‘news’ in perspective…
1. The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country.
2. The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country.
3. The New York Times is read by people who think they should run the country and who are very good at crossword puzzles.
4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don’t really understand The New York Times. They do, however, like their statistics shown in pie charts.
5. The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn’t mind running the country, if they could find the time — and if they didn’t have to leave Southern California to do it.
6. The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country and did a poor job of it, thank you very much.
7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren’t too sure who’s running the country and don’t really care as long as they can get a seat on the train.
8. The New York Post is read by people who don’t care who is running the country as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated.
9. The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country but need the baseball scores.
10. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren’t sure if there is a country or that anyone is running it; but If so, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are handicapped minority feminist atheist dwarfs who also happen to be illegal aliens from any other country or galaxy, provided of course, that they are not Republicans.
11. The National Enquirer is read by people trapped in line at the grocery store.
12. The Seattle Times is read by people who have recently caught a fish and need something to wrap it in.
WAKE UP AMERICA

Thanks to the environmentalist lobby and its influence on Democratic legislators in Congress, the U.S. has, for decades, been prohibited from drilling for oil in places that we know contain billions of barrels of proven reserves.
Check out this map:
All of the “NO” zones are places where the U.S., thanks to the Democratic Party, is prohibited from drilling for oil.
But wait it gets better.
***China, Cuba, Canada and others continue to drill off our shores where US companies are not allowed to drill because of Democratic policies!
Yes, that’s right. China and Cuba are actively exploring oil fields 50 miles from Key West, Florida while U.S. companies are barred from working in this area because of U.S. policy . So, instead of allowing the most environmentally responsible companies to operate there and increase our domestic supply, China, who has a dismal environmental record, is preparing to suck our close, lucrative oilreserves dry.
Investor’s Business Daily recently explained how irresponsible the Democrats have been on the energy crisis. They lay into what they consider to be the worst Congress ever for ..
~ Failing to allow drilling in ANWR.
We have, as President Bush noted, estimated capacity of a million barrels of oil a day from this source alone — enough for 27 million gallons of gas and diesel. But Congress won’t touch it, fearful of the clout of the environmental lobby. As a result, you pay through the nose at the pump so your representative can raise campaign cash.
~ Refusing to build new refineries.
The U.S. hasn’t built one since 1976, yet the EPA requires at least 15 unique ’boutique’ fuel blends that can be sold in different areas around the nation. This means that U.S. refinery capacity is stretched so tight that even the slightest problem at a refinery causes enormous supply problems and price spikes. Congress has done nothing about this.
~ Turning its back on nuclear power.
It’s safe and, with advances in nuclear reprocessing technology, waste problems have been minimized. Still, we have just 104 nuclear plants — the same as a decade ago — producing just 19% of our total energy. (Many European nations produce 40% or more of their power with nuclear.) Granted, nuclear power plants are expensive — about $3 billion each. But they produce energy at $1.72/kilowatt-hour vs. $2.37 for coal and $6.35 for natural gas.
~ Raising taxes on energy producers. This is where a basic understanding of economics would help: Higher taxes and needless regulation lead to less production of a commodity. So by proposing ‘windfall’ and other taxes on energy companies plus tough new rules, Congress only makes our energy situation worse.
These are just a few of Congress’ sins of omission — all while India, China, Eastern Europe and the Middle East are adding more than a million barrels of new demand each and every year .. New Energy Department forecasts see world oil demand growing 40% by 2030, including a 28% increase in the U.S.
Americans who are worried about the direction of their country, including runaway energy and food prices, should keep in mind the upcoming election isn’t just about choosing a new president. We’ll also pick a new Congress.
If you agree with the need to let the American people know who’s REALLY responsible for the sky-high gasoline prices we’re seeing today, please forward this e-mail to everyone you know.
If we elect a liberal Democrat as president in the Fall and keep the same Democrat-controlled Congress, nothing will change .. except gasoline prices, which will keep going up.
ARRESTED…

TEACHER ARRESTED.. - A public school teacher was arrested today at John F. Kennedy International Airport as he attempted to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, a slide
rule, and a calculator. At a morning press conference, the Attorney General said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-gebra movement. He did not identify the man, who has been charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.
“Al-gebra is a problem for us,” the Attorney General said. “They desire solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like ‘x’ and ‘y’ and refer to themselves as ‘unknowns,’ but we have determined they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country. As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, ‘There are 3 sides to every triangle.’ When asked to comment on the arrest, President George W. Bush said, “If God had wanted us to have better Weapons of Math Instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes.”
Officials told reporters they could not recall a more intelligent or profound statement by Homeland Security

Military Death Watch!
Posted on March 24, 2008 - Filed Under Military, News, President
This is for the people who like to keep a countdown of the war dead. Because there are some who are against the war, that have a morbid fascination with this. What I have hated with this counting of our dead is that it is politicized by 1/2 of our country. To put things into perspective:
From the Congressional Research Service
The total military dead in the Iraq war between 2003 and this month stands at about 3,133. This is tragic, as are all deaths due to war, and we are facing a cowardly enemy unlike any other in our past that hides behind innocent citizens. Each death is blazoned in the headlines of newspapers and Internet sites.
What is never compared is the number of military deaths during the Clinton administration: 1,245 in 1993; 1,109 in 1994; 1,055 in 1995; 1,008 in 1996. That’s 4,417 deaths in peacetime but, of course, who’s counting?
4,417 Military deaths during Clinton’s non-war administration.
3,133 under Bush during a War.
Hopefully this will give some perspective to those people who like to hype the war dead. Does anyone remember when the left (which is not to say that the right is any better) did a countdown of the military dead with their President?
