Independent Voters in New Jersey: www.ivnj.org is a website managed and operated by Bryant Nielson. He is a believes that ”independence of mind” and “rational thought” are currently missing within both major political parties. Bryant is concerned with issues such as: ballot access, clean elections, open debates, same day voter registration, initiative and referendum, fusion that allows candidates to run on more than one party line, open primaries, independent representation on electoral regulatory bodies such as the FEC and county board of elections, and expanding democracy in general. Bryant established this site as a forum for discussion of Independent Thought and a for his commentary.
The name of the site: IVNJ is appropriate.
Independent Voters are on life-support! Bryant seeks to infuse freash blood into the political discussion. Indpendent Voters need to have our voices heard.
Separately, Bryant is apart of The Committee for an Independent NJ (CINJ). Many of the CINJ issues and discussions will be incorporated into IVNJ (Independent Voters in New Jersey). The Committee for an Independent NJ is dedicated to opening the political process for independent and third party candidates. Currently 58.7% of NJ voters are registered as ‘undeclared’. We are a majority of the voters, but we are not organized to exercise our political clout. Let’s organize!
