Petition for the Right to Register as Independents
Posted on October 9, 2007 - Filed Under News
Hello CINJ,
As Jim mentioned, a small group of us had a highly productive meeting last weekend at the home of Bryant Nielson in Tenafly with Fran Miller and Jackie Salit of CUIP (check out www.independentvoting.org)
We discussed our vision - to gather together independent voters from around the state to assert our rights as independents. We decided on an intial action - a petiton for the right tor register as
Independents rather than be lumped as Undeclared, and we discussed the need for a name change since CINJ is not available as a web domain.
IVNJ (Independent Voice for NJ) is available, and Bryant has found it is available for other states to use as well (ie. IVSD) as the movement grows. Any thoughts on this? Another memeber Lisa Braun likes names such as “njCOIN” New Jersey Committee Organizes an Independent Nation
nJOIN : new Jersey Organizes an Independent Nation
njPOP : new jersey’s Politics Of the People
njPIN : new jersey Promotes INdependents
njLIVE : new jersey Lets Independents Vote Equally
ALSO - here is a rough draft for a petition. We’re thinking to post it using www.thepeitionsite.com, as well as have us all gain signatures. It would be animportant tool for grwoing the Committee and taking a direct action. Again, and thoughts/ comments are appreciated. Have a great day! Julie
